FAQs
Isn’t tarot evil and satanic?
1
Um. No. From a purely logical standpoint, tarot is just a complicated personalized math equation about life. The traditional Tarot deck has several different common themes of life- finances, emotions, relationships, material possessions, etc. You ask your question and see what cards pop out of the deck in order to get your brain thinking and highlight new perspectives or viewpoints. After all, the brain makes connections instinctively… whether they are true or not… and the cards simply assist your brain in trying to analyze and understand your situation. It’s probability, math, patterns… having an open mind… which, I guess, yes, is the work of the devil…
What does your card deck have to do with Occupational Therapy?

One of the first core concepts we learned about in my pediatric therapy class in OT school, was reflex integration. You see, the foundation of the nerve system starts in the womb and this system is responsible for sensory and motor functions of the body. Fetal development is the foundation of human life and this foundation consists of reflexes, automatic responses given specific stimulation. When the body experiences this, the body reacts with that. And those reflexes will continue to fire automatically until the body “integrates” them or in other words, the response is controlled and coordinated instead of reflexive and automatic. Eventually, the body is in control of it’s responses. Hopefully. The central and peripheral nerve systems established in childhood is the cornerstone of almost every therapeutic healing journey. Everything stems back to childhood. Research is out there saying we are who we are by the age of 5… Given my experience and understanding of the world, I would challenge this to say we are who we are by age 3… we are all a bunch of toddlers 😆
What is Occupational Therapy?
3
Occupational therapy is all about what is MEANINGFUL to the individual or group from cradle to grave. There are several different theoretical frameworks that OTs can operate from but overall, OT focuses on FUNCTION. Strategies, techniques, adaptations, activities, games, and skilled observations are our “bread and butter”… we love being creative problem-solvers for life’s everyday challenges.
Do you offer readings or therapy?

BOTH! I offer readings. I offer therapy services. We will tailor your care plan to fit whatever is needed. If you want to deep-dive into your dilemmas, let’s gear up and SCUBA… if you just need to scratch the surface, I will get my tools and we can move on.
